Free Syrian Army gains control of Nahiyat Mabatli and several villages, hours after gaining control of Afrin

The Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions participating in the Olive Branch operation announce gaining control of the center of Nahyiat Mabatli and several other villages northwest of Afrin, 43 kilometers north of Aleppo, Northern Syria. The announcement came hours after the FSA gained total control of the city of Afrin.

In statements published on their official Facebook pages, the FSA factions said that they gained control of the Mabatli town, which is considered the last regional center outside FSA control in the Afrin area, after clashes with the Kurdish Democratic Union party Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) factions.

The Olive Branch operation factions announced gaining control of the villages of Haj Hasanly, Qantarah, Awlad Arab, Khalil Oushaghy and the camps of Dagh Oushaghy in the Afrin region; the factions also gained control of the village of Kamrouk in the Bulbul region, in addition to gaining control of the road between Raju and Afrin.

The FSA factions added that they gained control of tha camp of Haj Hasanly in the Jindayris region, after confrontations that resulted in the killing of six YPG fighters.

Gaining control of Nahyiat Mabatly came hours after the FSA factions announced gaining total control of the city of Afrin, imposing total control of all the regions in the Afrin area. Earlier, the factions gained control of the towns of Bulbul, Raju, al-Shaykh Hadid, Shaaran, and Jindayris.
