Rif Dimashq - SMART

On Tuesday, loyalist media outlets reported that a rocket bombing killed and injured dozens of civilians in the Kashkoul street in loyalist-controlled central Damascus.

Loyalist media outlets broadcasted photos and videos showing destroyed buildings and blood in a street market in the Kashkoul street. The outlets added that “groups of militants” bombed the market.

The Syrian news agency SANA reported that the bombing killed 35 civilians and injured more than 30 others. SANA accused the opposition factions in Eastern Ghouta of bombing the market and nearby city of Jaramana.

The bombing od Kashkoul street coincided with intensified loyalist bombings on the city of Douma in Ghouta, killing 56 civilians and injuring dozens.

Loyalist forces and media outlets accuse the opposition factions in Ghouta of bombing neighborhoods of Damascus on a regular basis; however, the opposition factions deny the accusations and confirm that their fighters do not bomb civilians and residential neighborhoods.

Earlier, the al-Rahman Legion of the Free Syrian Army, which operates in the vicinity of Damascus, confirmed that they have not bombed civilians. The Legion accused the Syrian government of bombing civilians as loyalist forces installed rocket launchers and mortars on the Qasioun mountain.
