Raqqa - SMART

A landmine explosion killed a civilian. Two bodies, killed by a previous bombing in the city of Raqqa, Northeast Syria, were exhumed from the rubble,.

Activists from the campaign 'Raqqa is being Silently Slaughtered' reported of a landmine explosion on Tuesday, which was planted by the Islamic State (ISIS), and killed a civilian near the al-Sawamea roundabout north of central Raqqa.

Civilians also exhumed two bodies of young men, who were killed months ago by the International Coalition bombing on Aug. 16, 2017. The bombing targeted a water well near the White Garden in the city of Raqqa where ISIS currently holds control.

On Monday, a landmine exploded in the city of Raqqa, controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), killing a civilian and a woman.

SDF reported that residents of the city will return to their homes after removing mines that have killed hundreds of civilians surveying their homes. SDF then allowed these people to return to their homes in several neighborhoods, at their own risk.
