On Thursday, Syrian government forces shelled the besieged city of Douma, Eastern Ghouta, killing the media activist Suhaib Oyoun.

Activists and photojournalists in Eastern Ghouta mourned their colleague Suhaib Oyoun (Abu al-Baraa) after his death as a result of a rocket attack on residential neighborhoods of Douma.

A few hours before his death, Suhaib mourned on his Facebook page that his Civil Defense volunteer friend was killed on Wednesday by a Syrian government bombing on Douma.

A day earlier, a Syrian government forces and Russian bombing in the town of Ain Tarma killed the photojournalist Obeida Abu Omar.

Dozens of photojournalists have contributed to shed light on the suffering of the people of Ghouta, as they document the recent military escalation by the Syrian government. International media publish their photos, and television channels broadcast their videos showing the massacres and destruction in Ghouta's cities and towns.
