Idlib - SMART

On Friday, four fighters from the Failaq al-Sham of the Free Syrian Army were killed by an unknown armed attack on the Failaq al-Sham’s headquarter in the village of al-Ghassaneyah, Western Idlib, Northern Syria.

An official from the media office of the Failaq al-Sham, Abu Ala al-Mari, told SMART that “unknown factions attacked their headquarters in the village. There were clashes between them". No further details of the incident were given.

The activists said that an armed group attacked the headquarters of the Failaq al-Sham and fought with its members, killing four Failaq al-Sham fighters and one from the attack group. The body of the unknown is still with the Failaq al-Sham.

On Feb. 27, two fighters were killed and three others of the Failaq al-Sham were arrested after an attack by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on a headquarters in the village of Harbnoush, Northern Idlib.

Security chaos and assassinations of leaders of the Syrian Liberation Front and the Syrian Free Army factions took apart in Idlib recently. This comes in addition to the ongoing fighting between the HTS and the Syrian Liberation Front.
