Idlib - SMART

A hundred and fifty civilians protested in Maarat al-Numan, Northern Syria (35 kilometers south of Idlib). The protesters refused to recognize the Salvation government and stood in solidarity with Eastern Ghouta.

The protesters chanted in solidarity with Ghouta, raising the revolution flag and signs saying, “Oh Gulani, if you want peace bring back our children, alive,” and “Turkistani, you came to defend Muslims, don’t spoil your jihad.”

Several protests took place in the towns and villages of Idlib against the Tahrir al-Sham. The protests included chants against the latter, and shots were fired in the air to disperse some of the protests.

Last Sunday, civil authorities and figures in Maarat al-Numan refused to recognize the Salvation government or any other government military factions. They assured that all civil institutions be independent and not affiliate with any military party.
