Rif Dimashq - SMART

On Saturday, loyalist forces entered the city of Harasta, after the Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement's fighters completely withdrew from the city, in accordance with an evacuation agreement.

The last buses to carry fighters of Ahrar al-Sham, along with civilians, moved from the besieged city to Northern Syria at midnight on Friday.

On its Facebook page, the local council of Harasta said that in two days, 85 buses left the city, heading north.

The first group of buses arrived to housing centers in Aleppo and Idlib. It is expected that a second group, which left on Friday evening, will be arriving in the coming hours.

According to Sputnic agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that 4979 fighters, along with their families, left Harasta in accordance with an evacuation agreement.

The evacuation agreement comes with Russian guarantees, to deport fighters and their weapons. Russia and the Syrian government have also guaranteed no displacement or demographic change to the civilians who wish to still remain in the city.
