Daraa - SMART

On Friday, loyalist forces attempted to sneak inside the perimeter of the town of Dail (15 kilometers north of Daraa), Southern Syria. During this attempt a loyalist officer was killed and three others were injured.

A military source from the Southern Front of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), who refused to mention his name, reported that a group from the Syrian government forces attempted to infiltrate the village of Tal al-Khudur. The Syrian government forces managed to pull out their injured fighters, although the FSA obtained the body of the killed lieutenant.

The source pointed out that during the attempt, loyalist forces used elephant missiles and artillery shells, while the FSA used  only light to medium weapons.

He also pointed out that the loyalist forces aimed to expose the guarding points of the FSA and Islamist factions, in order to examine the readiness of their fighters. The source said that the factions located in the al-Tal area are the Karama legion, al-Mutaz and Shabab al-Sunnah forces, and additionally the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

Lately, the Syrian government forces and the Hezbollah militia have fortified their military locations, and have been continuously attempting to covertly enter into FSA-controlled locations in order to plant explosive devices, some of which have already killed several fighters and civilians.
