Idlib - SMART

On Saturday, the seventh group of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the central sector of Eastern Ghouta, arrived to the passage of Qalat al-Madiq city, 42 kilometers northwest of Hama, Central Syria.

Humanitarian organizations received 6,637 IDPs, who were transported in 136 buses, escorted by the Syrian Red Crescent. The organizations prepared the IDPs to transport them to temporary shelters in Aleppo and Idlib.

Several hosting centers, managed by relief and humanitarian organizations in Idlib and Aleppo, have received new groups from the central sector of Eastern Ghouta. These arrive daily to the area, with the sixth group having arrived on Friday.

On Mar. 23, the al-Rahman Legion of the Free Syrian Army concluded an agreement with Russia to evacuate people from the central sector of Eastern Ghouta, including Irbin, Zamalka, Ain Tarma and the Jobar district. The agreement also allows the evacuation of injured fighters, who can choose to return to Ghouta or go to Northern Syria after their recovery, without fear of prosecution.
