Idlib - SMART

On Saturday, Syrian government forces and Russia bombed cities and towns in Idlib, Northern Syria, killing and wounding 12 civilians, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Eastern Ghouta.

The Civil Defense said through its media that Syrian government warplanes bombed residential neighborhoods in the city of Ariha (14 kilometers south of Idlib), killing three civilians while injuring seven others. Civil Defense teams rescued the wounded, taking them to medical clinics nearby.

Local activists reported that the bombing of Ariha killed a displaced man from Eastern Ghouta, and wounded his son. A few days ago, they escaped from the same warplanes which were bombing Ghouta, killing and wounding thousands of civilians.

Local activists also told SMART that suspected Russian warplanes launched rockets on the city of Dana (36 kilometers north of Idlib), killing two civilians while wounding others. The wounded were transferred to medical centers. Similar bombings hit the city of Jisr al-Shughur, the town of Mohambal, and villages of Rakaya. No casualties were reported.

On Wednesday, suspected Russian airstrikes and loyalist shells killed four civilians and wounded others in the town of Badama and the village of Naquir.

These bombings come as part of the military escalation on the cities and towns of Idlib in recent days.
