The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that the Syrian regime's bases in Syria had been hit by more than 100 rockets fired by the U.S., British and French forces.

Two U.S. ships located in the Red Sea carried out the shelling alongside two B-1 bombers, which struck from the Al-Tanf military base, according to a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The Russian defense noted that Al-Dumayr Airbase (the airport from which the chemical weapons that bombed Douma city were launched) was exposed to 12 winged missiles, adding that the regime's air defenses managed to intercept them all.

Russian media reported that the western bombardment targeted the 105th Brigade Republican Guard, the Air Defense Base at Mount Qaseen, al-Mazzeh Military Airport, the Scientific Research center in Barza and Jamraya, Major General 41 Special Forces, military locations near al-Rahiba and al-Ksawa, and the research center in the countryside of Hama, as well as the military bases west of Homs.

The United States, France, and Britain launched a simultaneous attack in the early hours of Saturday morning, targeting military sites, mostly in the capital of Damascus and its surrounding areas.

This comes after Western threats to strike the Syrian regime for its use of chemicals in the city of Douma, which killed dozens of civilians and wounded hundreds.
