SMART-Homs

The Free Syrian Army and Islamic battalions began on Tuesday a battle against the loyalist forces in the village of Qubat al-Kurdi in al Salamiyah area east of the city of Hama, central Syria.

A military source, who declined to be identified, told SMART that they broke the defense lines and took control of two checkpoints near the village.

The source pointed out that the two checkpoints were the starting point of the loyalist forces to storm villages in northern Homs.

He added that the factions participated in the battle are: "the Liberation of Sham and al-Sham Corps and the Fourth Corps and Jend Badr."

The head of operations room "Northern Homs," Talal Mansour, said they launched this battle in response to the killing of civilians by loyalist forces and its attempt backed by the Iranian militia to storm the villages in the region.

"Mansour," added that the clashes continued with heavy and medium weapons and it coincided with the bombing of warplanes Qubat al-Kurdi village.

This coincidence with the announcement of the Syrian businessman Firas Tlas and the son of the former defense minister in the regime Mustafa Tlas, put forward an initiative to hand over the Russians management of the northern region of Homs and South Hama, which was dispersed by the military factions on the pretext of containing "harmful" conditions.
