Airstrikes bomb popular market in city of Kafr Nubl, Idlib

On Tuesday night - Wednesday morning, a suspected Russian warplanes’ bombing hit the city of Kaf Nubl (35 kilometers south of the city of Idlib) in Northern Syria, killing a civilian and injuring three others. The bombing also resulted in the ignition of a fire, in which its extinguished operations continued until this morning.

The Civil Defense reporter in the city of Kafr Nubl, Rami Sweden reported to SMART that suspected Syrian government warplanes launched a raid on the al-Hal market area in Western Kafr Nubl, led to the killing of a civilian and wounding three others.

Sweden added that the bombing also resulted in a fire in the market, which was widely deployed amid the attempts of the Civil Defense teams to suppress it. He noted that they managed to extinguish the fire at three am, but it was renewed again after about three hours, so the Civil Defense teams have destroyed it around 9:30, ultimately.

A woman was killed with three of her children as a result of artillery shelling bombed by the loyalist forces, which are stationed in the village of Ijaz, Southern Idlib, on the residential neighborhoods in the Maasran village. A civilian from the displaced persons of Eastern Ghouta was also wounded by a similar bombing of the Jaurin camp on the blocks of Jisr al-Shughour.

The shelling comes in the context of the military escalation that took apart in the cities and towns in Idlib during the recent period, which has resulted in the death and injury of hundreds of civilians, in addition to the destruction of infrastructure in the region.
