The spokesperson of the Iraqi Army said that days ago, the Iraqi Air Force launched raids on Syria and killed 36 Islamic State fighters, including commanders.

Reuters quoted the spokesman, Yahia Rasoul, saying, “the raids achieved their goals [..] the raids also targeted an ISIS command meeting, according to the Directorate of the Military Intelligence.”

The media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister said last Thursday, “the Iraqi forces launched deadly airstrikes on ISIS locations in Syria, from the Iraqi side of the border, without mentioning further details.

At the beginning of January 2018, the Iraqi Prime Minister announced regaining control over the Iraqi lands from the ISIS, months after launching battles. The Iraqi Army regained control over al Mousel; the key IS stronghold in Iraq and other cities.

The ISIS has lost most of its controlled areas in Syria after the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched military campaigns, supported by the International Alliance and FSA factions, supported by Turkey. The IS now only control small areas in al-Hasaka and Deir Ezzor.
