Many food and basic supplies disappeared from the market, and the prices of fuel and other goods increased by 20 percent in the towns of Yalda, Babila, and Beit Sahem in Southern Damascus, as the loyalist forces continue to block the passage to the area.

Activists reported that gas, bread, and several vegetables disappeared from the market, amidst a lack of drinking water, due to the blocking of Babila-Sidi Moqdad passage that links these towns to the areas under the loyalist forces control.

Activists added that the prices were 400 Syrian pounds per liter of diesel, 350 Syrian pounds per liter of gas, 450 Syrian pounds per liter of oil, 250 Syrian pounds per kilogram of sugar and 500 Syrian pounds per kilogram of gee. All the above prices have increased by 20 percent.

The loyalist forces blocked the area's passage six days earlier, which coincided with a loyalist forces' military campaign on the nearby al-Yarmouk camp, al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood, and the al-Tadamun and al-Qadam districts.
