On Thursday, the Syrian government reported that International Coalition airstrikes hit Syrian government military outposts in the steppes of Deir ez-Zor, Eastern Syria; however, two United States officials denied the attack.

Syrian government media outlets reported a military source saying, "At dawn, aggressive International Coalition airstrikes hit some of our military outposts between al-Bukamal and Hamimiya amidst a military escalation by the Islamic State.”

Syrian government war-media tweeted that International Coalition airstrikes hit two government outposts on the perimeter of their second station (T2) near the Iraqi border.

Bill Urban, the spokesperson for the U.S. Central Command reported to Reuters saying, "We have no information about a U.S.-led International Coalition strike against targets or troops loyal to the Syrian government."

A spokesperson for the U.S. Defense Ministry reported, "We have no information to add to the reports of the strikes."

In February, activists reported that International Coalition warplanes bombed military outposts of the Syrian government forces in the village of al-Salihiya, 3 kilometers north of Deir ez-Zor.

On Feb. 8, 2018, bombings and clashes against the International Coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces killed 100 members of the Syrian government forces in Deir ez-Zor.
