The residents of Eastern Ghouta continue to suffer from the lack of services provided by the government. They depend on two primary markets that cover all of the towns and cities of Eastern Ghouta.

A local source reported that the markets of the towns and cities of Eastern Ghouta are not operating yet. The lack of markets force the residents to walk several kilometers to buy food from the demands of Kafr Batna and Douma, with clothes and shoes entering the markets infrequently over the past few days.

Residents of Ain Tarma, for example, go to Douma to buy meat. On Wednesday, merchants of Damascus distributed 10,000 SYP for each family in Ain Tarma.

The source added that free meals are being distributed daily in Eastern Ghouta. He pointed out that the food resources come from the warehouses and the merchants of Eastern Ghouta and the factions that left recently.

The source also said that some of the legumes are expired or unusable. Most of the goods used for cooking have been stored for a long time because they are covered with a thick layer of dust.

Dozens of civilians preferred staying in Eastern Ghouta with Russian guarantees, whereas others left for Northern Syria with the faction fighters, under the displacement agreement. The agreement took place months after launching a military campaign and after years of siege.

The government forces arrested dozens of civilians after they entered the towns and cities of Eastern Ghouta. Robberies also have been taking place, especially jewelry, despite the Russian guarantees for the factions and the civilians when deciding the displacement agreements.
