Salvation government prohibits possession and sale of fireworks in Idlib

Idlib - SMART

The Interior Ministry of the Salvation Government issued a circular prohibiting the possession and the sale of fireworks in Idlib, Northern Syria.

The ministry reported in a statement that “possessing, selling or storing fireworks is strictly prohibited, under the penalty of Sharia accountability.

The Ministry stated that any violation would lead to seizing the fireworks, closing the shops selling it and referring the owners to Sharia Justice, which include imprisonment and paying fines.

The Ministry urged the residents to raise their children’s awareness not to use fireworks, and to report the users and promoters. It also demanded the mosque preachers to remind people of the danger of fireworks.

The Salvation government was established in October 2017. A founding committee was created during the General Syrian Conference. The salvation government runs the civil affairs in Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham-controlled areas.
