Turkey - SMART

The Iraqi Forces reported that 45 Islamic State (IS) commanders and fighters were killed by Iraqi aerial bombing on Deir ez-Zor, Eastern Syria.

The Iraqi Air force reported in a statement on their official Facebook page that F16 warplanes attacked three IS bases in the city of Hajin. The attack destroyed the bases and killed everybody in them.

They added that the victims included the war minister's supervisor, the deputy war minister, an al-Aazeera militant, a media person, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's mailman, a negotiation committee member and a police officer.

On June 7, the Iraqi Army proclaimed that F16 warplanes destroyed a building, in which IS fighters were stationed in the town of al-Hajin, Syria, near the Iraqi-Syrian border.

The IS lost control over most areas after the Syrian Democratic Forces launched several military campaigns. The campaigns were supported by the International Alliance and the Free Syrian Army factions supported by Turkey, in addition to clashes with the Syrian Government forces, supported by Russia and the Shiite militias. The IS only control small areas in al-Hasaka and Deir al-Zor.
