Aleppo - SMART

A shooting in celebration of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's success in the presidential elections kills a Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighter and injures others near the city of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

On Monday, local activists reported that a shooting in celebration of Erdogan's victory killed an FSA fighter and caused minor injuries to about 10 others in the Afrin area (43 kilometers northwest of Aleppo).

Fighters in the cities of Jarabulus, Azaz and al-Bab, and in most villages of the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operations' areas, celebrated the winning of Erdogan by shooting their guns, causing panic among civilians.

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won the Turkish early presidential election, which was held on Sunday, June 24, with over 50 percent of the votes. Erdogan's success eliminates the need of a second round of elections. About 88 per cent of the Turkish people voted in the elections.
