Homs - SMART

On Monday, Syrian government forces arrested some young men, who preferred to stay in Northern Homs, Central Syria, and signed "settlement" papers with them. The papers have been expired for days.

Local sources told SMART that the Syrian government forces arrested more than eight young men at the checkpoints. The men were heading from the northern countryside to the city of Homs. The Syrian government forces detained them because their settlement papers are expired.

The sources stated that the expiration date of the paper was only one month, contrary to the agreement concluded with the Syrian government under the auspices of Russia, which one of its items required to sign "settlement" papers for six months.

Civil and military bodies have reached an agreement with the Russian delegation and representatives of the Syrian government forces. The agreement requires the cease-fire and the displacement of those who reject the "settlement" in the northern countryside of Homs, and the southern countryside of Hama. On May 26, the Syrian government announced seizing control of the two countrysides after the last group of displaced persons left.

Thousands of those who reject to leave Northern Homs signed "settlements" with the Syrian government forces.
