Daraa - SMART

On Monday, the opposition's Central Operation Room of Southern Syria said that the loyalist forces advanced into two villages in Eastern Daraa, Southern Syria. The two villages lie in the administrative territory of the nearby as-Suwayda governorate.

According to a photo published on the Operation Room's Telegram account, the loyalist forces advanced into the villages of al-Shomarah and al-Shiyah in the al-Lajat area in Eastern Daraa, while the battles continued in the village of Jadel.

The Central Operation Room of Southern Syria, which unites several Free Syrian Army factions and Islamist battalions, did not mention any details about the date of the loyalist forces' advance.

The Vice President of the Free Daraa Governorate Council, Imad al-Batin, reported that two villages in the as-Suwayda countryside signed a reconciliation agreement with the loyalist forces, adding, "Maybe those villages were al-Shomarah and another village nearby, and they are both very small with not more than 10 houses each."

Al-Batin denied that any other villages and towns in Eastern Daraa signed reconciliation agreements with the loyalist forces or Russia.

The loyalist forces and their allied militias have attempted to advance in Eastern Daraa for days, amidst intensified bombing using different kinds of arsenal and aircraft, killing and injuring dozens of civilians, and displacing thousands of others.
