Daraa - SMART

A military source from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) confirms that the FSA dropped a warplane of the Syrian government forces while it was raiding the town of Nahta, northeast of Daraa, Southern Syria.

The source said that the FSA factions dropped the warplane using anti-aircraft guns. The source stated that the pilot jumped out in a parachute over the nearby governorate of as-Suwayda.

The opposition's Central Operations Room in Southern Syria announced that the anti-aircraft guns hit the warplane, setting fire to one of its engines.

On Monday, the military factions hit a suspected government forces' warplane using anti-aircraft missiles while it was shelling the town of Basr al-Harir.

The government forces advanced into the villages of al-Shomra and al-Shiyah in the al-Lujat area, east of Daraa, Southern Syria. The government forces also seized control of the town of Malihah Sharqiya and parts of the Basr al-Harir town. One week ago, the loyalist forces launched a military campaign and have been shelling the villages and towns of Southern Syria since then, killing and injuring dozens of civilians and displacing thousands.
