On Tuesday, Ghazwan al-Safadi, Jordanian foreign minister stated that there are no Syrian refugees on the border between Syria and Jourdan. Al-Safadi added that the displacement wave in the Daraa governorate, Southern Syria was internal.

Al-Safadi tweeted saying that Jordan will keep closing border with Syria to prevent Syrian internally displaced persons from entering Jordan. Al-Safadi noted that the United Nations (UN) could help Syrians, who flee war inside of Syria.”

Earlier on Tuesday, the UN said that 45,000 Syrians evacuated the Daraa governorate, Southern Syria for the Jordanian border area due to the Syrian government forces’ military campaign in Daraa. Amnesty International called upon Jordan to open border for Syrian refugees.

Earlier, sources in the Free Syrian Army, who preferred to be unknown, reported that Jordan prevented coming closer from the border for less than six kilometers threatening to open fire at those, who attempt to come close.

Earlier, Jumana Ghunaimat, Jordanian minister of Media Affairs stated that Jordan could not host more Syrian refugees as Jordan lacks financial support and infrastructure.

The Russian backed Syrian government forces and foreign loyalist militias launch a military campaign in Northern and Eastern Daraa governorate, Southern Syria, which is included by the de-escalation agreement. The campaign displaced thousands of civilians.
