Daraa - SMART

On Wednesday, the al-Basha'er university in Daraa, Southern Syria, announced postponing midterm exams in its faculties and institutes in the towns of Nawa and and al-Musayfirah due to the Russian and loyalist forces' intensified bombings.

The Dean of the university's Faculty of Education, Khaled Qanbar, reported that the students requested postponing the exams and the university management agreed due to the intensified bombings.

Qanbar said that the university has about 1,400 students and more than 100 employees, adding, "We will have to wait and see how the situation will evolve, and then make decisions accordingly."

A suspected Russian airstrike killed 33 people in the town of Nawa, as the loyalist forces, supported by Russian warplanes and foreign militias, launched a military operation in the Eastern and Northern areas of the Daraa governorate, despite the fact that Daraa was included in a de-escalation agreement sponsored by Russia.
