Daraa - SMART

On Friday, five displaced children died as a result of scorpion bite near the town of Taiyba, 15 kilometers east of Daraa, near the Jordanian border, Southern Syria.

Activists told SMART that the children died due to the lack of emergency medical supplies to treat them after they were bitten while they were outdoors in the town's plains.

The military campaign launched by the Syrian government, backed by the Russian air force and foreign militias, in Daraa, displaced tens of thousands of civilians to the border areas with Jordan, which prevented the displaced persons from entering its territory.

Displaced persons from Daraa on the Jordanian and Israeli borders suffer from the lack of medical and food assistance, the difficulty of securing shelter and the lack of essential services in the camps that receive them.
