Hama - SMART

The loyalist forces escalated their bombings on the towns and cities of Northern Hama, Central Syria, after a Russian scouting plane fell in the area.

Local activists said that on Monday, the loyalist forces targeted the city of al-Latamnah with more than 80 artillery and missile shells from the loyalist forces' bases in the Halfaya town and the Maardas, al-Masasnah and Zillin checkpoints.

The loyalist forces also targeted the city of Kafr Zeita with more than 20 artillery shells, and the villages of Maarkabah, Lahaya, al-Arba'in, Tal al-Sakher, al-Zakat and Hasraya with more than 40 artillery shells.

The shelling came after a Russian Orlan 10 unmanned scouting plane fell due to a technical failure near the village of Tal Waset in the al-Ghab Plain area, according to activists.

Days ago, a loyalist forces' artillery shelling on locations near the village of Lahaya killed and injured 10 civilians, including women and children.

Russia and the loyalist air forces regularly shell the Northern Hama countryside, killing and injuring civilians.
