Aleppo, SMART

On Tuesday, the Abu Amara group of the Free Syrian Army claimed responsibility for two explosions that hit the Syrian government forces’ outposts near the city of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

Muhana Jafala, the commander of the Abu Amara group said in a voice recording that their fighters bombed the Syrian government forces’ outposts in al-Sheikh Najjar and Handarat. Jafala did not report on the Syrian government forces’ casualties.

Syrian government media outlets justified the explosions, saying that the Syrian government forces destroyed old bombs near the cement factory in Handarat. The outlets added that the old bombs belonged to the opposition military factions who previously controlled the area.

In late May 2018, the Abu Amara group claimed responsibility for the assassination of the head of investigations office of the Political Security Branch of the Syrian government forces in Aleppo. The Abu Amara group bombed near a Shabiha militias' headquarters in the al-Ma’adi neighborhood.
