Al-Hasakah - SMART

The al-Shaab municipality of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration (Rojova) resumed working on a sewage system project in the village of Qattinah in the Ras al-Ayn area, 71 kilometers northwest of al-Hasakah, Northeastern Syria. The project cost up to approximately four million Syrian Pounds.

A technical official from the Tal Halaf town council, Louay al-Hassan, said that the project was launched a year and a half earlier, but stopped due to the executive party's "failure to achieve the required leveling of the sewage system," according to the media office of the al-Shaab municipality.

Al-Hassan noted that the project aimed to ease the suffering of the people from leaking sewage water and to contribute to the development of the area's infrastructure. Al-Hassain added that the work, which includes installing a 350 meters pipeline, will take one month to complete.

The Rojava, supported by the United Nations and deferent local sources, is executing several economic projects. These include the opening up of markets, shops and service projects, such as installing sewage systems and restoring roads. In addition, the Rojava supplies the area with electricity from the Euphrates River and rehabilitates potable water stations.
