Hama - SMART

On Wednesday, the loyalist forces confiscated buses from transportation companies in the city of Hama, Central Syria, to use them to evacuate the residents of the al Fou'a and Kafraya towns in Idlib. This evacuation came as a part of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) agreement with Iran to evacuate all residents from the towns besieged by the HTS.

Local sources said that loyalist forces fighters and loyalist al-Shabihah militia members confiscated buses from the city's central bus station and sent them to Kafraya and al-Fou'a, as several buses were sent to the Daraa governorate as well.

The sources noted that this confiscation affected the transportation movement and civilians' travels to other governorates, as the number of buses was reduced to two buses per one transportation company.

The sources also noted that this confiscation is not the first to occur, as the loyalist forces forced bus drivers to carry on evacuation operations in several Syrian areas several times before.

Last May, the bus transportation movement stopped between the al-Suwayda governorate, Southern Syria, and Damascus due to using the buses in the displacement of Eastern Ghouta's residents to Northern Syria.
