Homs - SMART

On Sunday, militias loyal to Iran intercepted the second convoy of forcibly displaced people (FDP) from the Quneitra governorate near the city of Homs, Central Syria.

The forcibly displaced people said in voice records sent from the buses that the fighters who intercepted the convoy belong to the Iraqi Abu al-Fadel al-Abbas sectarian militia and were accompanied by Afghani fighters. The fighters formed an attack position against the convoy, which includes women and children. The forcibly displaced people also took photos of the fighters.

The group of displaced people from Quneitra consists of 2,500 people in 47 buses and several private vehicles, according to activists.

The activists added that the second group waited for another convoy of forcibly displaced people, as the loyalist forces returned a convoy of forcibly displaced people from the city of Nawa, Daraa, to Homs, after the loyalist forces sent the convoy to the Tartus governorate. The activists also said that Russian soldiers arrived at the location where the convoy was held.

One day earlier, a convoy of 22 buses and private vehicles transporting 1,000 people left the city of Nawa. The convoy included fighters from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and others from the Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement.

Earlier, the FSA and Russia reached a ceasefire agreement in Quneitra that started last Thursday. The agreement allowed people who refuse to reconcile with the Syrian government to head to Northern Syria. The agreement includes a general amnesty and promises to stop the persecution of dissidents and civilians.
