Islamic State attacks seven villages in Eastern al-Suwayda countryside

Al-Suwayda - SMART

On Wednesday, the Islamic State attacked seven villages in Eastern al-Suwayda, Southern Syria, killing and injuring civilians. The number of victims is not reported yet due to the ongoing clashes.

Local souces reported that ISIS attacked the villages of of Douma, al-Shbeki, al-Shrehi, Rami, al-Suwemrah, al-Mtunah, and Tarba. The Rijal al-Karamah factions clashed with ISIS in the villages. The loyalist forces were not involved in the clashes.

During the attack, ISIS launched missiles on the village of Rami, injuring 12 civilians, including children.

Local civilians in the villages of al-Suwayda called for support in the clashes against ISIS, and people from other areas in al-Suwayda responded to the call.

Earlier, the loyalist forces withdrew from Eastern al-Suwayda and gave local fighters light weapons to block potential ISIS attacks.

In June, the loyalist forces attacked ISIS locations in several villages in the Syrian Desert east of the al-Suwayda governorate.
