Islamic State attacks Syrian Democratic Forces in al-Raqqa
Al-Raqqa - SMART
On Tuesday, the Islamic State (IS) announced a new military operation against the Syrian Democratic Forces in al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.
IS media reported that they targeted a car of three Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) members with an explosive device in the village of Baladiat Jdida in the al-Karama district, al-Raqqa.
The IS attacked a day after the IS published a photo of a Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) member after executing him. The IS executed a YPG member after capturing him in Jdeidat Khabour in the al-Karama district.
Two days ago, an explosive device killed an employee in the Syrian Democratic Council and injured a civilian near an SDF checkpoint in Central al-Raqqa. Attacks against the YPG and the SDF continue to occur, either by direct attacks or by explosive devices. The IS has claimed responsibility for most of the attacks.
