Aleppo - SMART

On Monday, unknown gunmen attacked the city of Jarablus, 125 kilometers northeast of Aleppo, Northern Syria, wounding two civilians. The city is controlled by the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

The media officer of the military police in the city, Abu Naseem, told SMART that unknown gunmen riding a pickup truck opened fire on civilians in the main market of the city.

The media officer added that the attack wounded two elderly men who were taken to a hospital.

Abu Naseem stated that the military police, civil police, and the FSA began searching for the gunmen in the city, after circulating the image of the car at all checkpoints.

On Aug. 13, a motorcycle exploded in the city's main market, killing one woman and wounding three children.

Dozens of security incidents killed and wounded hundreds of civilians and FSA fighters in areas outside Syrian government control in Northern and Eastern Aleppo. The accusations are mostly directed at pro-Syrian government militias and the Islamic State.
