Al-Raqqa - SMART

On Friday, the security services of the Asaiysh forces of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration arrested three children in the city of al-Tabaqa, 55 kilometers west of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria, for taking drugs.

A local source, who refused to be identified, said that the Asaiysh patrol arrested children under the age of 18, who were taking "Afghan hashish" in the pool cafe.

The source stated that the price of 180 grams of hashish reaches up to 150 US dollars. The source indicated that taking hashish has become widespread among the people of the governorate.

On Aug. 17, 2018, the Kurdish Autonomous Administration arrested four drug traffickers in the village of al-Garniya, west of al-Raqqa.

The Asayish forces launched arrest campaigns in the cities and towns of al-Raqqa and the refugee camps in search for persons wanted on charges of weapons trafficking with the Islamic State and drug dealing.
