Aleppo - SMART

On Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested 15 people from a village in the Manbij area, 80 kilometers east of Aleppo, Northern Syria, after the residents of the village quarreled with an SDF leader.

A local source reported that the quarrel started when the commander of the SDF's Jund al-Haramein Brigade accused the residents of targeting his car with a landmine while he crossed the al-Sandaliyah village on Friday.

The source said that the residents attacked the commander's escort patrol and seized the patrol member's weapons and ammunition, forcing the patrol to exit the village.

The source added that the SDF sent a seven-vehicle patrol from the city of Manbij to arrest several people from the village. The arrested people are still under investigation, according to the source.

The source also said that the mine was not planted recently, but was left behind by the Islamic State.

On the 23rd of last July, clashes between civilians and fighters from the SDF's Manbij Military Council injured three civilians and two SDF fighters in the village of al-Sayyadah near Manbij.
