Aleppo - SMART

On Saturday, Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander killed a woman and injured a man during a shooting in the Bab al-Salamah camp for internally displaced people in the city of Azaz, 43 kilometers north of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

Nizar al-Najar, the camp manager, reported that Abu Faraj al-Libi, a commander of the FSA faction al-Shamiyah Front, shot a woman after a personal dispute, killing her and injuring a man in the back.

Al-Najar reported that a military force and the police arrived late at the location, but managed to prevent a "disaster," after the woman's relatives knocked down tents and submerged them with gasoline in an attempt to set fire to the camp.

Al-Najar added that al-Libi and his brothers fled the camp after the incident.

Civilians and militants have recently been involved in shooting in the Euphrates Shield-controlled areas, killing and injuring people.

FSA fighters and commanders have been accused of violations against civilians in the FSA-controlled areas in Eastern and Northern Aleppo.
