Al-Raqqa - SMART

On Thursday, the Asayish forces of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration prevented more than 40 displaced families from entering the city of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.

A source from the families told SMART that the Asaiysh prevented them from entering the city because they did not have bail documents, residence documents or any other papers that entitles them to enter the city.

The source stated that most of the families, who were prevented from entering, were previously displaced to the governorate from Deir Ez-Zor and the city of al-Safeera in Aleppo, and settled in al-Raqqa countryside. The source explained that the families were trying to enter the city through the Euphrates River in boats.

Earlier, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) prevented about 15 displaced families from the city of Albukamal in Deir Ez-Zor from entering a camp southwest of al-Raqqa.

These are not the only two incidents in which the SDF and Asaiysh prevent displaced families from entering the governorate. The incident was repeated several times under the pretext of security reasons, and others because the camps cannot accommodate more families.
