Syrian Human Rights Network:”Three massacres committed in Syria in August”

On Thursday, the Syrian Human Rights Network (SHRN) documented the committing of three massacres in Syria during August. The three massacres increased the number of the massacres committed to 408 massacres in 2018.

The SHRN published a report saying that Russian troops committed a massacre in the town of Urem al-Kubra, Western Aleppo, killing 36 civilians, including 20 children and seven women. The report added that the Syrian Democratic Forces  (SDF) committed a massacre by planting a landmine that went off near the town of Ma’batli in the Afrin Area, killing 11 civilians, including three women.

The report added that a weapons warehouse explosion in a basement of a residential building in the Bab al-Hawa old square in Northern Idlib marked the third massacre as the blast killed 40 civilians, including 19 children and 11 women. The report noted that the weapons warehouse belonged to a weapons dealer from the Homs governorate, Central Syria.

Earlier, the SHRN documented 15 massacres in Syria in July 2018. The SHRN added that Russia and the  Syrian government forces committed eight out of the 15 massacres.

In recent days, the SHRN published periodic reports that documented violations in Syria in July 2018. The reports reported 647 arrest cases and  21 assaults against essential centers. The reports also documented that the Syrian government forces’ helicopters dropped 528 barrel bombs.
