Al-Hasakah - SMART

On Sunday, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) said that the Iranian threats to attack the areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces in Eastern Syria is a "justification" to Iran's failure to reach an agreement on Idlib, Northern Syria.

Riyadh Darar, the SDC's joint head, commented on their attitude towards the Iranian statements, saying, "We will not comment on such statements right now, because the Iranians cannot storm Eastern Syria (...) they just say so to forget about their failure in reaching an agreement on Idlib."

On Friday, the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stated that the next mission in Syria after the battle of Idlib is seizing the Eastern Euphrates.

On Friday, the Turkish, Russian, and Iranian Presidents met in Tehran to discuss the issue of the Idlib governorate, Northern Syria, which outside the Syrian government forces' control. During the meeting, Russia refused Turkey's suggestion of a truce in Idlib.
