Syrian government forces' bombings kill and injure people in Hama

On Sunday, Syrian government forces airstrikes and shelling killed two people and injured others in a city and village in Northern and Western Hama, Central Syria. The bombings coincided with other bombings on villages and towns outside Syrian government control in the area.

Local activists reported that the Syrian government forces stationed in the city of al-Suqaylabiyah shelled the village of al-Karkat in Western Hama, killing a military commander of the National Liberation Front belonging to the Free Syrian Army. The activists added that the shelling also killed a civilian and injured a child. The activists noted that the Civil Defense transported the injured to a nearby medical clinic.

The activists added that Syrian government forces' helicopters dropped barrel bombs on the city of Kafr Zayta, Northern Hama, killing a civilian and injuring another.

The Syrian government forces stationed at the checkpoints of  al-Suqaylabiyah, al-Kareem, al-Qahira, and Breidije shelled the towns of Qal'at al-Madiq and al-Lataminah, and villages of al-Shari'a, al-Howaiz, and Bab Taqa.

The Syrian government forces and Russia continue to bomb the Hama countryside outside the Syrian government forces' control, killing and injuring civilians and forcing schools to suspend teaching.
