Hama - SMART

On Tuesday, the local council of the Nahiyat Aqerbat in Eastern Hama, Central Syria, appealed to humanitarian organizations to intervene to allow forcibly displaced people (FDP) to enter the al-Raqqa governorate, most of which controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in Northeastern Syria.

Ahmad al-Hammouri, the head of the local council, said that the SDF prevented ten families made up of 45 people from entering al-Raqqa due to the lack of a guarantor. Al-Hammouri added that most of the people were women and children already displaced from al-Dana in Idlib who fled to al-Raqqa after the Russian and Syrian government forces' intense bombings on Idlib.

Al-Hammouri noted that the FDP families fled to al-Raqqa because their relatives already have residency permits there. Al-Hammouri added that the SDF requested that the families provide a Kurdish guarantor to ensure that the families will not cause problems.

The local council noted that the FDP families have been waiting for a week in poor conditions near the Aoun al-Dadat checkpoint in the Manbij area, seeking permission to enter al-Raqqa.

The local council added that the SDF arrested two FDP from Aqerbat. The local council noted that the fate of the two FDP remains unknown, and that the SDF arrested them after they entered the city of al-Tabaqa without having a residency permit.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Free Hama Governorate Council appealed to humanitarian organizations to support 342 FDP families in need of water and food in camps in Southern Idlib.

On Monday, the Free Hama Governorate Council appealed to humanitarian relief groups to aid FDP that fled to Idlib due to the Russian and Syrian government forces' intense bombings.

The FDP fled Hama following Russian and Syrian government forces' bombings on the area using different kinds of arsenal. The bombings have killed and injured civilians, and devastated areas. The bombings have also destroyed vital centers, depriving thousands of civilians of basic services.
