Idlib - SMART

Forcibly displaced people (FDP) in the Tal Dam camp at the edge of the village of Hantotin in the al-Zawiya mountainous area in Idlib, Northern Syria, appeal to humanitarian organizations to provide heating devices as winter approaches.

Haitham al-Hamid, the camp manager, said that the FDP lack heating devices and the tents cannot prevent rain water from leaking inside.

Al-Hamid added that they need rain covers for the tents' ceilings and floors, sand for the camp's paths, and concrete bases under the tents.

A forcibly displaced woman who introduced herself as Umm Yusuf said that the children need winter clothes, noting that the FDP cannot return to their houses because they were destroyed by Syrian government forces and Russian bombings.

The Tal Dam camp shelters 100 FDP families from villages and towns east of the al-Hijaz railway in Idlib. The Syrian government forces seized the villages and towns in the recent military campaign in Idlib, according to al-Hamid.

Most of the FDP in camps in Idlib and Aleppo suffer in difficult humanitarian conditions due to the lack of periodic support from humanitarian organizations, amid diseases and poor sanitation.
