Turkey - SMART

On Wednesday, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced that they finished withdrawing heavy weapons from the demilitarized zone in Northern Syria, to implementation  of the terms of the Turkish-Russian agreement

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense said, "The withdrawal of heavy weapons from the demilitarized zone is finished, adding that the efforts will continue to establish lasting peace in the province of Idlib," according to the Anatolia news agency.

A day ago, the Free Syrian Army finished withdrawing its equipment and heavy weapons from the demilitarized zone, according to the agreement, while retaining its headquarters and fighters along with light, medium and anti-armor weapons in the region.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that it is possible to delay the implementation of the demilitarized zone for a day or two, after the scheduled date, without explaining the reasons for the possibility of such delay.
