Deir al-Zor - SMART

On Saturday, the warplanes of the International Coalition, led by the United States, killed 28 Islamic State (IS) members and a Belgian commander in the Deir al-Zor governorate, Eastern Syria.

The International Coalition is a military coalition of 73 countries led by the United States, which allegedly restricts its military actions to fighting the Islamic State, but has also killed hundreds of civilians during its bombings on IS-controlled areas.

A local source reported that an International Coalition air raid targeted an IS location in the village of al-Keshma of Hajin (98 kilometers south of Deir al-Zor), killing the members in the base and the commander, Abu Hajar al-Balqiki (Belgium).

The source did not confirm if dozens of members usually gather in the base or if it was a meeting for the IS members.

Earlier, an International Coalition bombing on the town of al-Susah killed a civilian and injured six women and children.

The International Coalition bombings followed the IS counter-attack on Hajin, al-Sha'fah, and al-Bahra, which killed and injured Syrian Democratic Forces members.
