Idlib - SMART

On Friday, Syrian government forces shelled the town of Jarjanaz, 37 kilometers south of Idlib, Northern Syria, killing and wounding civilians.

The Civil Defense Center director in Talmans, Abdul Sattar al-Hussein, reported that the Syrian government rocket launchers in the village of Kufria shelled the town, killing ten civilians, including a child and three forcibly displaced people.

Al-Hussein stated that they had not known the number of wounded yet because they were transferred to hospitals in the surrounding cities and towns. Al-Hussein said that among the wounded there are critical injuries as the shelling was concentrated on residential neighborhoods.

The activists added that the Syrian government forces stationed in Tal Marq, also targeted the town of al-Tamaniah and the villages of Skik and al-Tah, using heavy artillery, without causing casualties.

On Nov. 1, 2018, the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) attacked a Syrian government forces base, killing a number of their members in the demilitarized zone near the town of Abu al-Duhur, east of the governorate.

It was the first HTS attack after the Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan reached the demilitarized zone agreement in mid-September.
