Deir al-Zor - SMART

On Saturday, International Coalition warplanes raided Islamic State (IS) locations in residential neighborhoods in the city of Hajin, 96 kilometers southeast of Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria, killing about 15 people, most of them women and children.

Local activists said that the International Coalition warplanes bombed residential houses near the Khalid Ibn al-Walid Mosque in the IS-controlled city of Hajin, killing about 15 people, most of them women and children.

On its official website, the media center for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said that the coalition warplanes performed 22 air raids against IS locations in the Deir al-Zor countryside.

The media center also said that the raids destroyed six IS locations and five weapon storehouses, without specifying the locations of the raids or reporting civilian casualties.

Last Wednesday, an International Coalition bombing killed five IS members in the city of Shaafah in Eastern Deir al-Zor. A week earlier, International Coalition warplanes killed an IS commander and several members in the village of al-Baqaan near Deir al-Zor city.

Days ago, the SDF announced ending the battle against the IS in the Deir al-Zor governorate temporarily because of the Turkish attacks on SDF locations in Northern Syria, considering the attacks a direct support of the IS, which regained control of all the areas it had lost during the last SDF military operation in a matter of days.
