Hama - SMART

The price of oil increased by 50 percent in areas outside Syrian government control in Hama, Central Syria, with the advent of the winter.

On Monday, the oil trader, Manhal Hussein, told SMART that the oil price increased due to Turkey’s threats to launch a military operation in the governorates of Aleppo and al-Raqqa, traders’ monopoly of oil, the advent of winter and the slow work of oil burners.

Hussein added that the price of a barrel of oil (200 liters) reached 60,000 Syrian pounds in the recent two days after it was only 43,000 SYP.

In Octobre, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey finished preparations for large-scale military operations against the Syrian Democratic Forces on the Euphrates River banks.

The prices of fuel also have increased significantly in cities and towns of southern Idlib governorate, Northern Syria, after the Turkish announcement.
