Hama - SMART

On Wednesday, the families of detainees in the Hama Central Prison, Central Syria, appealed to international organizations to put pressure on the Syrian government and prevent it from transferring the detainees to the Sednaya Military Prison in Rif Dimashq, Southern Syria.

Four women of the detainees’ families reported that their relatives in the Hama Prison faced an unknown fate after receiving a decision to transfer them to the Sednaya prison. The women added that they appeal to international and legal organizations to intervene and prevent the Syrian government from transferring and sentencing the detainees.

A few days ago, about 40 detainees received news of their relocation to the Saydnaya Central Prison in Rif Dimashq, where 11 of them will be executed. The Syrian government arrested the detainees for participating in a demonstration at the beginning of the Syrian Revolution in 2011.

On Tuesday, the prisoners of the Hama prison directed their last appeal to the people of the city to launch a sit-in in solidarity with them and demand their release.
