Al-Raqqa - SMART

On Wednesday, the Asayish forces confiscated fuel in the governorate of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.

The Asayish Forces (or Internal Security Forces) were formed in 2012 by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Syria. The Asayish Forces include more than 10 thousand members operating in the areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration in Northern and Northeastern Syria.

Local sources reported that the Asayish confiscated three vehicles, each one of them contains five fuel barrels of 220 liters, while they were passing between the banks of the southern and northern Euphrates River near the al-Baath dam.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) issued a decree that prevents fuel from being entered or sold as they control some fuel wells in Eastern and Northeastern Syria. The number of wells increased after the SDF gained control of large areas of al-Raqqa and Deir al-Zor with International Coalition support.
